Answered Prayers

Libby has been doing great since her surgery. She didn't need to go back into the operating room last night which was awesome and all of her vitals and lab work look great. She really gave the nurses a run for their money last night. I slept through some of it, but apparently at one point she sat up in bed and was trying to pull her breathing tube out. They finally ended up taking that tube out early this afternoon and she's doing great. Since getting the tube out she's been so calm. It's definitely an answer to prayer!! I've been very concerned that she'd get upset and would be difficult to calm down. She seems to like the nurses just fine and is accepting all the little things they have to do to her. The only time she got really upset was right before they took the breathing tube out. She was fairly awake and very irritated by having that thing down her throat. I can't blame her because I'm sure it's very uncomfortable! She kept reaching up to me wanting me to pick her up and it broke my heart to not be able to do it, but she calmed down almost immediately after getting the tube pulled. She even gave me high five a couple times and asked for Gabe and JoJo. If she continues to recover as quickly as she has been I can't imagine she'd be in the hospital for more than a week. I'm praying that she won't have any complications that could keep her in longer. I'm also thanking God for getting her through surgery and helping her to stay so calm.

  1. Such good news. Don't blame her about the breathing tube, and it's a healthy sign that she wanted to yank it out, too!
