Tomorrow's The Big Day

Tomorrow is the day we've been anticipating and dreading since we brought Libby home. She will be having her heart surgery at 2:20 pm. I'm relieved that we'll be getting it over with, but also very sad that she has to go through this. She had her pre-op physical this past Thursday and was given the green light to go ahead with the surgery. Dr. St. Louis said the surgery would probably take between 4-5 hours and that she could be in the hospital anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks. I'm praying for a shorter recovery time! I'm really dreading seeing her on a ventilator and with chest tubes, iv's and a central line. I'm praying that God will give Libby peace and comfort while she recovers because she has a lot of anxiety about doctors, nurses and medical procedures. I know that God is in control of the situation and that we can trust him, but it's still nerve-wracking for a parent to see their child go through so much. I'm thankful for these past 3.5 months we've had to bond with Libby before surgery and I'm really looking forward to the time when she has recovered and we can get back to "normal" life. We really appreciate everyone's prayers!
