Mei Mei's Room

Several months ago we moved our boys to a new room so Mei Mei (Chinese for little sister) could be across the hall from us. Today we finally got around to painting the room. I've been so immersed in everything boy for the last 10 years that I chose a nice shade of pink. After the paint dries we'll start setting up her furniture and putting out her bedding. We've been fortunate to have so many people give us things. I don't think we've had to buy a single thing for her room so far. We've gotten an entire bedroom set, a quilt, a valance for her window and some pictures for the wall.

As we've been working on getting her room ready we've been thinking about how she's never had a room to herself before. In fact, she's probably shared a room with many other children. I wonder if she's even had to share a crib? If so, it could be an interesting transition to having so much space to herself. It's also possible that she hasn't had anything that belonged to her alone. She's probably had to share clothes and toys. I wish we knew more specifics about what life is like for her in the orphanage. I'd like to know what her daily routine is, if she has a particular friend she's close to and what her favorite foods are. I'm so excited about discovering more about our little girl!
