I've been putting off updating the blog while we waited for Libby's MRI results, but we still haven't gotten them so I decided to write up a post anyway. We were supposed to heard from the cardiologist by last Friday, but we didn't so I called early Monday morning to see if I could find out what's going on. I talked to a nurse who said she would let Libby's cardiologist know we wanted to talk to him and that it may take a couple days for him to get back to us. We still haven't hear and we're now coming up on 3 weeks since the MRI. I guess if we don't hear by Friday I'll call again. We were really hoping to get her heart surgery done before Christmas, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen now. Libby has been healthy so far apart from a cold a couple weeks ago and we're trying to keep her as germ free as possible before the surgery. Now she appears to have another cold and Josiah has croup. Him and Jon spent several hours in the ER last night when Josiah woke up coughing and having difficulty breathing. This tends to happen to Josiah at least once every few months. He sounded good today, but it usually flares up in the middle of the night. I'm hoping we can all rest better tonight!
Apart from the cold, Libby is doing great. She turned 21 months old today and we continue to be in awe that she is our daughter. I don't think we ever could've imagined how wonderful she would be. We've officially had her for 2 months now. We are still getting to know each other and there are still challenges to overcome, but we wouldn't trade this experience for anything.
I was planning to write a longer post, but I'm exhausted and need to get some sleep while I can. Hopefully I'll know more about Libby's surgery plans soon.
April, I hope you get Libby's results soon, it isn't easy to just sit and wait. I will pray Libby and Josiah get better.
