We Have Our Consulate Appointment

Things are moving very quickly now. We got word today that our consulate appointment has been confirmed for September 15th so we were able to purchase our airline tickets today. We will be flying out of Minneapolis on Sept. 2nd and returning on the 18th. It's hard to believe that after almost 3 years of waiting we'll be leaving in less than a month. It's also crazy to think that Libby has no idea that she has a family in America that can't wait to get her! I just pray that God will be preparing her heart for our family and that she bonds with us quickly. I can't wait for the first time we see her smile!

Today we were able to have a care package sent to her. We weren't able to go buy the items ourselves, but there's a wonderful company called Ladybugs n Love that will put everythng together and mail it to the orphanage for us. We included a doll, a stuffed panda, a blanket, pictures of our family, candy and nuts (for the orphanage staff), books and a disposable camera so they can take pictures of Libby in the orphanage. I wanted to include an outfit, but we haven't gotten an update on her current measurements yet so I decided not to. It makes me sad to think that these care package items will probably be the first things she's ever had all to herself.
